I've started my first webcomic! I'm not dead! I've just moved... again. Since most of my friends here friended me for my artwork, would anyone be interested in reading an original webcomic/manga about a firefighter and a doctor? Only one page so far, but I'll be posting more tomorrow! :)

Wow, I realize I've started reading a lot of books and never finished them. By the way, am I the only one who finds it strange that Dostoevsky fandom does not exist? I can't imagine how there are practically no fanfics or fanart for The Brothers Karamazov.

Won't be posting anything in a while because I have a driver's exam coming up, haven't reviewed any material for my chemistry course next semester, and wasted a good part of my winter break doing absolutely nothing. Next picture will be an epic surprise. ;)

Okay, so I just found out yesterday that FTW actually means "for the win" and not "what the fuck" backwards. Since I made a typo and saw the term used recently by others, I think I used FTW incorrectly at least 10 times in the past two weeks on various communities, which officially makes me a bigger n00b than Zuko. Please, spare me of any further embarrassment. TELL ME if I do something like that again. Thank you.

It's ironic that two of my favorite characters from Avatar, Sokka and Pakku, are both sexist bastards. I mean, I'm a staunch feminist and I go to a women's college (Hillary's college at that). Hahaha. But who says sexist can't be sexy? I'm just a big hypocrite, aren't I.

Besides, old geezers are hot. Pakku, you think you're so old and wise, but you're actually one of the youngest on my lovelist. ;)

Omfg. I can't believe the semester is almost over. Two more final exams to go. I also notice that I tend to entertain myself with online quizzes when I have a paper to write, and work on my drawings when I have an exam to study for. Then once I have real time to spend, I end up doing nothing at all. Not very efficient.

No quote for this one. I can't think of anything that doesn't sound corny. This picture can be taken as "shipping" if you want, even though I don't like Sokka and Toph doing anything beyond hugging. Or any of the main Avatar characters for that matter.

P.S. If anyone can tell me exactly which line of which Chinese poem is carved in the paperweight (NOT the water jar--that's my signature), I will draw your character/shipping of choice doing whatever you want.

I had a lot of fun with the composition for this one, especially trying to make the long horizontal canvas work. If you pick out several points in the picture, you can see all the triangles that they form, and the triangles sort of get smaller and smaller toward the left of the picture. If you don't see it, it's not important. It just makes my eyes happy. Any kind of feedback/criticism/suggestion is appreciated!

My computer is back, but I won't be drawing as much anymore. Instead of minoring in studio art, I think I'm going to go for a double major with biochemistry--basically the equivalent of having three majors. But hopefully, less quantity is more quality, and I will stop posting crappy half-assed pictures. :)

Not exactly. My computer broke down the day after I finished writing my last entry and I still haven't fixed it. But I had actually started a Grindeldore picture and finally backed up the PSD file, which means it's safe to reinstall the operating system... once I figure out why my battery light isn't working.

Hopefully, I will have another picture finished before Thanksgiving break, then another one during break. I'm not really sure which direction I'm going with this journal anymore. Should I draw a larger range of characters, or focus on a single character? Should I start including Lord of the Rings fanart, or stick with only Harry Potter? Should I start writing fanfiction???

I am, however, thrilled about the number of people now in the grindeldore community. It most likely shot up overnight. Whoever knew those two, of all pairings, would become canon? Thanks to everyone who informed me, otherwise with my limited computer access, I would never have found out.

P.S. Although it might be a bad thing that I found out. I had a very unhealthy fangirl moment yesterday. I don't remember ever squeeing so much in real life.

College Life

Sorry about not replying to comments in my last entry. I really appreciate all the feedback, but I didn't expect to have so much to do in the first week of college. Try-outs, class registration, shopping, homework... I'm getting eight hours of sleep each night and it doesn't feel like enough.

I'm not really sure how I feel about college yet, except that it kills my motivation to do anything that is not homework. I have not started on a new picture, but that's not really unusual. What's surprising is that I haven't had one stroke of inspiration in the past week.

But don't get me wrong. Dumbledore still makes me very very horny.

And seriously, there are Harry Potter references EVERYWHERE at Wellesley College. Like a hidden tunnel that looks like a solid brick wall with the words "Platform 9 3/4" written in chalk, the cupboard under the staircase, the cozy common rooms with high ceilings... I even passed by an Astronomy professor's office that had "Professor Sinistra" pinned to the door. When I get a digital camera, I will share all these pictures with you. :)

Now, I must go retake the swim test I failed two days ago. Any idea suggestions for me? Requests? What would you like to see?

This picture took very little time and effort to paint, but I figured I hadn't posted anything in a while. Like I so accurately described on deviantART, I tried to mix Mary Grandpré with Edward Hopper and anime, and I don't particularly like the result.

Any opinions on the style? Or the subjects?

P.S. Classes start tomorrow. College has been very campy so far. And exhausting. Hopefully, that will change by next week.

Today is the day I can look at porn, buy cigarettes, open my own bank account, have sex with someone Dumbledore's age, and join pornish_pixies. I have finally reached that magic number, 18, although I don't feel so different from how I felt yesterday.

I still stand by my no age restriction belief. Don't worry, just because I'm eighteen now doesn't mean I'm going to block off all the good stuff from my younger LJ friends. ;) I've lied about my age many times and I never got caught, because honestly, maturity level does not define age. And notice I say it in that order because if I had said "age does not define maturity," it would have meant something completely different. Maturity is overrated.

Some pr0n for you all:

Keeping it PG-13. I'm actually not a big fan of anything beyond that, unless it's for gawking at and showing to my friends and saying, "Oh. My. God. I can't believe someone (or I) drew p3n0r!" And that, I believe, is the most mature part of myself.

My Latest Obsession

So this morning, my mom comes into my room at 7:00 to wake me up so I can pack for college, and she notices a little index card lying on the bed next to me. "What's this?" she asks me, and I'm like, "What's what?" Then she looks at the index card for a LONG time and says, "Is this Dumbledore?"

I laughed so hard that I nearly fell off the bed. It was only a REALLY quick sketch of him that I did on an index card two days ago. I actually shoved it under some of the crap on the corkboard above my bed when my dad was inspecting my room the other day, but it somehow came loose. And obviously, there was no hole from a pin.

At first, she starts laughing too. Then this sort of dreadful realization dawns on her and she's like, "No! You sleep with this?" I try to convince her that it was on my corkboard, not my bed, but there's no pinhole so she won't believe me.

So I'm guessing she was thinking of how I went from being an A student to a C student in one summer after I became obsessed with Remus Lupin. Then it was some anime characters, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Faramir. I was determined to keep this new one from her, but she found out on her own.

Yes, indeed, she was right. I am madly in love with a fictional 156-year-old wizard who is already dead and I'm leaving for college tomorrow. Please wish me luck.

I'm proud of how Dumbledore came out in this. I think I managed to make him look very... Dumbledore-ish, despite his age in the picture. (Although I can't help thinking that I overdid his hair a tad bit. No, scratch that. I had way too much fun with his hair.) Grindelwald, on the other hand, looks like an evil male version of Marilyn Monroe.

No background because I'm lazy. Feedback is appreciated, as always, but I'm leaving on a 3-day trip to Maine tomorrow, so I won't be able to read/reply to comments for a while.

P.S. Gellert is on top. Albus likes it that way. X3
